There are actually a large number of black people who dont want to support Barak Obama because he is not ‘black enough’ and hasnt had the ‘black experience’. Like Hillary has? I mean if you dont like Barck because of his politics thats one thing, but this is idiotic. If Barak spent have his speeches talking about how the Man is keeping black people down would that do the trick? Or should he have his pants down law and appear in a rap video to show how much he is keeping it real?
There is a chance this country could have one of the most historic moments in its history and slave-minded black folk and their so called leaders are going to see it go right past them. Agree?
I agree. As if he is black is not good enough, and the fact they have to bring up that he did crack and smoked weed isnt enough… now they say he is not black enough? What is wrong with America? They should be happy he is not black enough, maybe he will have a chance then at the presidency. He is a well distinugished man, he speaks eloquently, dresses well, and his educational background is beyond par to that of our current president…

They expect all black people to be wearing doo rag and gold teeth, but let me tell u something, we are very intelligent. Barak is making strides already in politics being the 3 BLACK SENATOR IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES!!! thats on average one black senator every 81 years… sad as it is i feel america will never change… very sad.

What idiots are saying he’s not black enough? I saw him announce his run for President and got chills just hearing him speak.
I love to hear him speak and listen to what he has to say. For those who won’t vote because he’s not ‘black enough’ or even those who say he’s ‘too black’ shame on all of you.

I totally agree. I don’t happen to like his politics, but Obama is a credible and attractive candidate, whose views appear to represent a significant portion of his constituency.

yeah, i agree. its really closed-minded to see the surface and not the depth. what we need is someone honest, intelligent, wise, thought-provoking, with great leadership skills, and the common-sense approach. all the things this current administration lacks. who cares what that person looks like if they can bring all that to the oval office?

I see someone else was watching the re-run of The Colbert Report besides me… I think in this country, black is a cultural thing, not a color thing. He’s not the descendant of slaves, so he isn’t "black"; however, he IS the son of a Kenyan immigrant, so he IS African-American. It would be a triumph of the immigrant American dream…

What has the so-called Obama accomplished, (nothing) all you black people just see a black pres. candidate, and most of you will vote for him because he is black. This will not be historic,he’s only running because of campaign contributions and they won’t last. He knows he doesn’t have a chance in hell. Most whites (the majority) won’t vote for him, most Latinos (the awaken sleeping giant) won’t vote for him, he won’t even be the Dem. nominee. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment.

America ever acknowledge the need for an intelligent Black Man. We complain
and complain about the rappers, ball players, entertainers but
when someone steps up to the plate both black and white
Americans alike show very little appreciation. Most feel threatened or envious.

Because the majority of Americans are not ready to embrace a president of a color, so they (white, black, etc.) must make his race a big deal when deciding if he is fit to be president.

Unfortunately there are people out there like this. Personally I feel that Obama is the perfect person for the job of President. Speaking as a black man, I don’t even know what being black enough is. If anything blacks should follow and listen to what Obama has to say, he’s the perfect example of what blacks or any race could accomplish. If you ask me his ‘black experience’ is one of great success. The real meaning of keeping it real is to be true to yourself. Obama has had some of the same problems as most black men in this country. The difference is, Obama has overcome them.

Maybe he should change his name to "Black" Obama.
I agree with you. Barak Obama is without doubt, an African-American but it is true that his ancestors were never carried over here in slave ships so he’s not really in the same club as most african americans.
Like you, I think this is a historic opportunity.
Here’s a link for an article from the Chicago Tribune about Black support for Barack, enjoy.
