Why do people ask silly and poorly thought out questions?
I really don’t understand why people poorly word their questions and give little information , it can be hard to understand them or know what they actually want.
Oh another problem; The "attention seekers". E.g. "Am I fat?"(pics included!111) "

You need to understand that Yahoo! Answers is, for the most part, passively administered and for the most part a question is only removed if it is reported. Because of the nature of this forum Yahoo! will allow silly questions like "Am I fat" with pictures included because it costs too much to administer the site properly and it would also mean a decrease in users thereby causing Yahoo! to get lower search engine rankings on other search engines. In the end, I feel, it is about search engine rankings driving new users to the site and new users asking even more irrelevant questions thereby increasing Yahoo! exposure on the internet. Increase exposure on the internet, I feel, means revenue for Yahoo!. This means the answer to your question ultimately means Yahoo! Answers will allow poorly thought out and irrelevant questions in their quest to drive up revenue for their company.
