Would people really become idiotic in the future?

Would this really come true?
In the movie ‘Idiocracy’ the narrator explains that natural selection is indifferent to intelligence, so that in a society in which intelligence is systematically debased, stupid people easily out-breed the intelligent, creating, over the course of five centuries, an irremediably dysfunctional society. Demographic superiority favours those least likely to advance society. Consequently, the children of the educated élites are drowned in a sea of sexually promiscuous, illiterate, alcoholic, proletarian peers
It seems likely but in the far, far future . If the human race survives until then.

Whats your view?

I tend to agree.

I’m adding to the ’cause’, – I’ve 6 kids. – and I think they’re on the ‘idiot’ side. At least 4 of them are. The young twins have yet to prove they’re idiots.

Things may be heading that way, although it depends on whether the intelligent can establish an elite holding dominion over the herds of idiots.

In our own time, it seems that as long as the proles get cheap booze, celebrity TV shows, broadband, and regular benefit cheques they’ll muddle along without causing too much trouble.
